A bit of time off, a holiday, mindfulness, relaxation, getting stuff done – can I inspire you?

Since finally accepting my mum’s downward curve, mentally, and a few other stressful things, I decided to make a new start for myself. I wasn’t sure what, but new anyway.

I haven’t rushed. I decided to have a little holiday, at home. Time off from the usual. No counselling; nothing. And it has been amazing.

Thirteen weeks and one day; an update on my mum and her dementia diagnosis… Resilience, time for you, and is there anything you don’t like about your personality?

Today is 26th July 2015 and it has been thirteen weeks and one day since mum, in a strange state of mind, fell down the stairs and badly damaged herself.

Nine weeks and one day. Dementia. Care homes. Social services and parents.

Oh thank goodness for Chris, some lovely supportive friends, Bach’s remedies, Titus (my cat who is great therapy), Molly (hamster), my fish, my potted garden, my counselling course and my writing… Staying positive, doing things I enjoy and using mindfulness have been key to getting through recent tough times.
