The Manchester Author Event and Gig was a blast – I met authors I’ve known for years for the first time in person!

The Manchester Author Event and Gig happened yesterday and I have woken today feeling very happy about it all. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the huge marquee where 50 of us set up our tables and showcased our books and our personalities, chatting to each other and to readers. I met some amazing authors, including Christoph Fischer (love his book ‘Conditions’), Olga Nunez Miret (read her book ‘Family, Lust and Cameras’ which I really enjoyed), Laura Morgan (whose book ‘When Darkness Falls’ I read and loved), and so many more.

To name a few, Bella Settera (lovely lady), Victoria Howard (real name Jenny Woodall, who is another lovely lady), K L Shandwick (who I met at the Essex event), Elizabeth Morgan, David Lascelles, Gary Edward Gedall and Lavinia Urban.

Creative artist, Annabella Williams was there with her arty stuff made from books pages (very clever), book blogger Tory Adams was there, and Maria Lazarou from ‘Obsessed by Book Designs’ was showcasing her author design works and services, including trailers.

I met some lovely readers, including Laura Smith, Amanda Williams and Michael Ennis, plus many more, and had some very interesting conversations throughout the day. I learnt a lot and had a blast! Michael enjoyed it too, and was a great help, bless him!

And the Astley Green Colliery Museum where it was held was really interesting – we got to see the huge machinery in action at lunchtime. The gig included Mog Stanley and Officer, who were really good! We chatted to David Logan from ‘Officer’ and he so happens to run a homeless shelter in London CLICK HERE TO SEE THEIR WEBSITE ‘Ace of Clubs’ which was really interesting since I volunteer as a counsellor at a homeless shelter in Essex! I love coincidences!

So, enjoy some photos from the event 🙂 We are now off to explore Manchester!
