Lest We Forget… the Normandy beach landings of World War Two on D-Day 70 years ago today on 6th June 1944. Bravery personified. People united; so very many lost in the whole of World War Two (WW2), so that we can enjoy freedom as a nation today. Wishing those left who fought that day a wonderful day to remember and I am so touched by the enormous efforts in Normandy and around today to mark such a huge event in history.

Long may this recognition continue. I hope future generations will know and appreciate, as we do now, as much about the efforts, intelligence, bravery and sacrifice of all the men and women who fought for our freedom, and let them never be forgotten. X

Normandy is well worth a visit, as there is so much to see and learn about the war there. I have visited many of these, but will be making another trip over there soon so soak up some more. 🙂

I will always wear my poppy with pride too, for Remembrance Day (remembering those who fought in World War One) This year it will fall on Sunday 9th November 2014. XXX 🙂
