Just a quick update on my volunteering. As you know I applied for a mental health group support worker role with Rethink in January, and have been fobbed off with being offered training in March, then it might be April, then nothing. They asked me if I would still like to

Excitement, joy, illness and sadness = life! But it’s how you deal with it that counts!

I finally took my dad for his angiogram on Wednesday to get the diagnosis for his angina type pains. It took me over six months to get him to go to the doctor, and many nights sobbing to Chris at how frustrating it was that dad wouldn’t help himself, despite his suffering.

Hooray for today! I’ve just been to my local volunteering centre for my initial appointment - Volunteering options are great! I start Friday!

I’m so excited I had to write about it straight away!

Oh my gosh, I have just come back from my appointment at the local volunteering centre and I have so many options now – I’m even starting a little job this Friday!
