Self publishing is hard. You have no backing from an agent, a big publisher, all their contacts and knowledge, just you and maybe a few people around you to help. For me, I had my editor and myself, that was it, due to the nature of my memoir. So, I thought I would share some of my insights into doing that with others and for now, rather than just duplicate my author interviews, here are three links below to see them in different places. Firstly, my editor, Debz Hobbs-Wyatt, then with journalist Alison Smith-Squire and finally my article in the ‘Writing Magazine’. Hope they help!
- My editor’s writing site (Debz Hobbs-Wyatt – Wordznerd Debz Hobbs-Wyatt my story of writing my book and self publishing
- Alison Smith-Squire - journalist author interview about self publishing and writing my book
- Writing magazine (September 2012) feature on writing my book and self publishing - click on the photo below to see the article (it will open in a new window)
So, I will encourage all of my lovely website visitors who are aspiring authors, to make a plan, like I did, and stick by it because your book will not sell itself in normal circumstances.
Take care,
