A film really worth seeing! ‘Philomena’ a drama about teenage mums in the hands of Catholic nuns in Ireland in the 1950’s

Saw ‘Philomena’ yesterday and give it 5* as I couldn’t fault it Judi Dench and Steve Coogan were brilliant at depicting Philomena Lee and Martin Sixsmith (journalist) as they set out to find Philomena’s son, who’s birth she had kept secret for 50 years.

It’s a drama but has a few funny bits and left us pondering just how many different adversities people go through in life and the secrets they hold inside.

What happened to Philomena and so many other teenage mums in the hands of Catholic nuns in Ireland years ago, was barbaric as depicted by this film, and it does bring up the topic of ‘forgiveness’ For sure, those who can forgive do have a calmer mind, but should we really forgive those who do such awful things?

This film is stunning and respect to Philomena Lee!
