A million little pieces by James Frey, published by John Murray in 2004
I read this book in 2011 - he is an alcoholic and it starts with him in a state and put into rehabilitation. He remembers little things to start to show his past and his family, but it is mainly about his recovery and how awful it is to get off alcohol like that.
Although written as a memoir it was found to have large sections of fictitious writing in it, but even so it portrays a devastating experience - more review coming soon…
